Nine Inch Nails Looking For Female Vocalist For Touring Band

By Brian Ives for MTV on November 1, 1999

Most rock stars have a list of prepared excuses for why they can't listen to your demo. Not Trent Reznor. The usually inaccessible frontman of Nine Inch Nails wants to hear from you, and soon.

According to the Nine Inch Nails' official Web site (www.nin.com), the band is looking for a female vocalist, presumably for its upcoming tour to support its latest release, "The Fragile." All interested singers should send a demo with a photo and contact information to P.O. Box 16948, Cleveland, Ohio, 44116.

If you get the gig, you may be getting a NIN paycheck pretty soon: Nine Inch Nails are scheduled to play a quick string of European dates starting late next month, with a U.S. tour coming next year (see "Nine Inch Nails Line Up European Shows, But States Must Wait").

Artists looking to sign to Nothing Records should send a demo along with a photo and contact information to P.O. Box 161095, Cleveland, Ohio, 44116. If you do get signed, you'll be on a roster that also includes NIN as well as Marilyn Manson, Meat Beat Manifesto, Einstrzende Neubauten, The The, Squarepusher, and Plaid, among others.

Finally, if you merely want to send Trent Reznor and Co. your regards, fan mail should be sent to P.O. Box 16681, Cleveland, Ohio, 44116.
