Nothing Records has confirmed the release date for the Nine Inch Nails single "We're In This Together" from the group's forthcoming album, "The Fragile."

The single and its accompanying video are scheduled to hit radio and video outlets on August 27. The song was produced by NIN frontman Trent Reznor and Alan Moulder, whose previous credits include producing the Smashing Pumpkins, engineering U2, and mixing Moby.

The video was filmed under the auspices of director Mark Pellington, known for the the Pearl Jam video for "Jeremy" as well as the recent film "Arlington Road." The daily Spanish-language paper "Publico" recently reported that the video was shot in Guadalajara, Mexico, during the first week of August.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the band's label calls "We're In This Together" the first single to be released off the forthcoming LP, which is due in fall 1999. The group did release a "teaser" single to stores (sans video), back in July, "The Day The World Went Away" (see "Reznor Delivers New Nine Inch Nails Single").

A spokesperson for Nothing Records told MTV News on Tuesday that the release date for "The Fragile" has yet to be confirmed.

In other NIN news, the group will be making its first televised awards show appearance on September 9 at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from New York City's Metropolitan Opera House at 8:00 p.m. (ET) (see "Nine Inch Nails, Lauryn Hill, DMX, Kid Rock, Jay-Z Lined Up For VMAs").
