NINE INCH NAILS are the most popular and successful industrial metal act in the world. Fronted by singer/writer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Trent Reznor, he is perhaps solely responsible for bringing the music to the attention of the mainstream. From the release of ground-breaking debut 'Pretty Hate Machine' in 1989 and their performance at the inaugural Lollapalooza to the last studio album, 2005's "With Teeth", here is an act whose influence on modern music cannot be underestimated.
NINE INCH NAILS are set to release a ground breaking DVD on 26 February 2007. The DVD will be the first DVD to be released in the US on DVD, HD-DVD and BLU-MUSIC[sic] DVD. At this point in time, it will only be released on DVD in the UK. It captures the "With Teeth" tour and includes 24 sons spanning NIN's entire career plus a number of extras. The DVD is presented in 16x9 anamorphic widescreen with the audio in DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The full track listing and extra information can be found at www.nin.com.
A new studio album and single will follow in April. The single "SURVIVALISM" (r/d 9 April) will be the first track taken from the new album "YEAR ZERO" which will be releaed on 16 April 2007. The album began as an experiment with noise on a laptop and led to a daydream about the end of the world. "YEAR ZERO" is part one, a concept record - 16 tracks, all written and performed by Trent Reznor, produced by Trent and Atticus Ross, mixed by Alan Moulder and mastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner. It's about a place fifteen years in the future, things aren't good and greend and power continue to run their likely course -- the world as reached breaking point.
