Trent Reznor in Guadalajara

On the Filming of WITT Video

The man who introduced the world to Marilyn Manson and who stole the show at the Woodstock Festival in 1994, labeled by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the most important musicians of the decade, the found of the group Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, was in Mexico recording a video.

The first day of running of the song " We're in this to together ", from the upcoming Nine Inch Nails double disc, The Fragile, one of the most anticipated titles on the international scene of alternative music, took place in the house number 61 of the street Nicholas Régules, right to a side of the Mexicaltzingo market, where, from the seven in the morning, they began to bring in the 50 extras selected to appear in videoclip.

Dressed in black, the extras walked throughout the street and were filmed, while the notes of "We're in this to together" guided the director, Mark Pellington, to mark the rate of the scene.

"Reznor was walking with us in one scene", said to David Sanchez, one of the 250 extras that altogether will be required for the video, for which filming was complete Sunday, in the dry lagoon of Sayula. Yesterday, until four in the afternoon, Trent Reznor completed the final take for the video and then retired.

Gabriel Arvizu, one of freelance Mexicans in charge of the art department, did not leave his astonishment:

"It is incredible how the Americans depend completely on technology, to the degree of which they are using a special liquid to break glasses, other to give old painting finishing, other to texturize the old ground, whereas we are accustomed to doing it with things like coffee. They were working with one 16mm and two 35mm cameras.", Arvizu revealed.

The director of "We're in this to together ", Mark Pellington, was the one who devastated in the 1993 MTV VMA, with the video for "Jeremy" by band Pearl Jam. That same year, Pellington directed "Beautiful Girl" for the Australian band INXS, and in 1997 where, a luck of musical film carried out by Jon was in charge of the mediometraje Destination Bon Jovi, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon and Whoopi Goldberg. On the other hand, Trent Reznor is the founder, composer and leader of Nine Inch Nails, project with which has recorded three albums: Pretty hate machine, The Downward Spiral and Broken. Also, he produced the Antichrist Superstar album of of his ex-corista and friend Marilyn Manson, and was in charge of the soundtracks of the films Natural Born Killers, of Oliver Stone, and Lost highway, of David Lynch. In addition, it collaborated in the "Hours" album, by David Bowie, who will go on sale in October.
