Nine Inch Nails

By ESPEN A. HANSEN for Verdens gang on May 3, 2005

Industrial metal isn’t terribly hip these days, but Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails keep it up on “With Teeth”.

Nine Inch Nails still make gloomy, dark and dissonant records. Trent Reznor doesn’t deliver anything new, but he’s still able to construct captivatingly raw and ear-deafening stuff.

Good examples are “Every Day is Exactly the Same”, “The Collector” and “With Teeth”, and also “Only”, which is a very catchy song of the twisted kind.

The hyperactive “Getting Smaller” is rocking and frenetic, actually one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. I’m just a bit unsure if these are good enough excuses to buy yet another Nine Inch Nails album.
