Our Review:
My, what sharp Teeth you have, Trent Reznor. Six years after his The Fragile album found the Nine Inch Nails mastermind drowning in industrial epics and orchestral movements (read: no radio hits), he's gone old school on us. More in line with his tighter debut, Pretty Hate Machine, With Teeth is made up of bursts of dark, scary and paranoid gut punches. Reznor's studio wizardry shows throughout as it rages with angry beats ("You Know What You Are"), gets all creepy with lonely piano flourishes ("Right Where It Belongs") and throughout asks the tough questions such as "Why do you get all the love in the world?" and "If you look at your reflection, is that all you want it to be?" So, he's still not Mr. Sunshine, but heck, at least he's still talking it out.
